Cem Atbaşoğlu, He graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1988. He completed his psychiatry residency training at the Department of Psychiatry, Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1993. He became an associate professor in 1998 and a professor in 2004. He worked at the Department of Psychiatry Neuropsychiatry Unit, Interdisciplinary Neurosciences Department of the Health Sciences Institute, and the Brain Research - Research and Application Center at Ankara University, and retired in 2016. He currently works as a private physician and continues his educational and research activities. He served as the psychiatry publication director of Neuropsychiatry Archive, the official scientific publication of the Turkish Neuropsychiatry Association; he continues to work on the editorial board. His main areas of interest are neuropsychiatry, neurodevelopmental disorders, genetic etiology, and diagnostic and classification systems in psychiatry.
