She completed her specialization training in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Ege University Faculty of Medicine. She conducted her specialization thesis in the field of 'Neuropsychological and social cognitive profile of the parents of patients with autism.', and received the title of specialist in 2006, associate professor in 2014. In the field of autism; Social cognitive disabilities, early diagnosis, clinical symptoms, accompanying psychiatric conditions, adolescence and adulthood characteristics are of special interest. She currently continues to monitor patients, train child psychiatry assistant, and conduct scientific research in the "Developmental Disabilities and Autism Unit" at the same institution. She takes part as a researcher in the TÜBİTAK 1001 project "Investigating the Effectiveness of the PEERS(Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills-UCLA)  Social Skills Development Program for Turkish Adolescents Diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder".
